Volunteer Opportunities
Our success in rescuing homeless and abandoned animals from shelters relies on the dedication and commitment from our volunteers.
New Beginnings for Animals (Southern California) is located in the Mission Viejo/Aliso Viejo area. We ask that all of our fosters and volunteers have their own transportation and be over the age of 18, unless accompanied by their parents.
PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO INSURANCE RESTRICTIONS, WE ARE UNABLE TO ALLOW ANYONE UNDER THE AGE OF 18 TO HANDLE ANY OF OUR CATS OR DOGS.

The following are some of the areas where volunteer help is needed:
- Dog and Cat Adoption Days – Help us show our animals at weekend adoption events or special events (generally a 3-4 hour commitment). You should be in good overall health to walk and handle dogs of all sizes.
- Cat Handlers – Our cats are shown at the Aliso Viejo PetsMart. Morning and evening shifts available. Our cat volunteers clean the cages, feed the cats, and spend time playing and socializing with them.
- Fundraising Activities – From bake sales to our annual golf tournament, we hold various fundraisers throughout the year to help raise money for our rescued animals. We rely on volunteers to make these events possible.
- Rescue Work – We always need reliable volunteers with flexible schedules to help travel to shelters in Orange County to pick up animals we want to rescue and bring them to our vet offices.
